The Bangkok to Pattaya train, up close.
The Pattaya train runs on the Eastern Line through Chachoengsao and the Chonburi coast, a relaxed alternative to the bus that avoids the expressway traffic. It still leaves from Bangkok's historic Hua Lamphong station, unlike trains to the north and south.
Hua Lamphong, not Krung Thep Aphiwat
The Pattaya train starts at Hua Lamphong, the old station in central Bangkok next to the MRT Blue Line stop of the same name. Do not go to Krung Thep Aphiwat for this one.
